Anyone can say they’re safe and reliable. Every Medical Rides trip goes to a provider that has cleared the NEMA Network’s credentialing standard — the same bar hospitals and skilled nursing facilities rely on when they book transport for their own patients. It’s vetting you couldn’t practically do yourself, finished before a provider can take a single ride.
Each provider’s commercial coverage is documented, checked against requirements, and watched so it can’t quietly lapse before your ride.
Business licensing, driver credentials, and vehicle inspection records are reviewed and kept on file — not taken on someone’s word.
No provider is auto-approved. A NEMA reviewer signs off before they can accept a single ride on the network.

Flat rates start at $135 for a standard door-to-door ride and $175 for a wheelchair van, covering up to 10 miles one way — the full rate card is just above. Round trips are priced as two legs, and specialty needs (bariatric transport, oxygen, extended wait time) are added when you call. Every trip is confirmed as one flat price before you book — no per-mile meter running, no fuel surcharge, and nothing new sprung on you on the day of the ride.
Rides are private pay (card or invoice) — but many families still get money back. Some Medicare Advantage plans reimburse members for non-emergency medical transportation; we give you an itemized receipt and can tell you exactly what to ask your plan. Original Medicare doesn’t cover non-emergency transport.
Yes. A family member or escort rides free — just tell us when you book so we send a vehicle with room.
Yes. For riders who can’t sit up for the trip, we arrange gurney vans with two attendants and proper securement. Gurney rides are quoted the same way as everything else — one flat price before you book. Mention it when you call and we’ll confirm the right vehicle.
A day or more ahead guarantees your time slot, and recurring rides (like dialysis) can be placed on a standing schedule. Same-day rides are often available too — especially hospital discharges — so if you need something today, call and we’ll tell you what’s open right now.

No — and that’s usually good news for your budget. Ambulances are for emergencies and medical care during transport. Medical Rides is non-emergency transportation: safe, comfortable rides to appointments, dialysis, and home from the hospital, at a fraction of ambulance cost.
